The earth will never end, during the tribulation period it will seem like it’s going to end. There will be a battle with Israel and Iran with Russia backing them but they Israel will without the British or Americans help. Then china will come against Israel, America and Britain will send what ever supplies they can but the battle will never occur because of the return of Jesus to the mt. of Olives where the biggest earth quake will occur in the history of the world.

Whenever somebody asks this question, I always keep the answer to myself because people think its selfish. But Ill tell you what I think anyways.......

Who gives a fuck. By the time we're dead, why does it matter. I say fuck it because thats the way life/evolution is. So why spend today, worrying about something that is inevitable? Do you really think that cars HAVE to run on gasoline? Hell no, but you wont see these gigantic oil companies donating money to fund research on another form of energy consumption. Human greed plays too big of a role today, to worry about tomorrow.

Setting all religious beliefs aside... I honestly think it will come down to a game of cosmic billiards. Consider, for example the Tunguska "event" in Siberia in 1908. Had that chunk of comet debris detonated a few hundred miles further west, we could have lost St. Petersburg altogether.

There are some large asteroids that will pass close to Earth in the next 40 years. [Link to timeline] While we'll likely dodge them all for the forseeable future, I don't doubt that humanity will have to deal with the repercussions of a large-scale asteroid strike.

We already have a scale for use in quantifying the severity of the threat.
[Link to Torino Scale]

The question of survivablility depends on:
a) the size of the bogey and probability of collision.
b) the length of time between discovery and impact.
c) the technology we have at our disposal.

 Holy shit... and I thought I was a nihilist! Wow.

So if I understand you correctly.... you're saying that after we're gone, we should just consign the entire planet to the scrapheap? I'm not sure I like that idea. This planet isn't disposable, you know..

Tunguska was weaksauce in comparison to what could hit us.

I think a lot of the things that would normally kill off large amount of entire species wouldn't work on us, although a lot of people would die. We're very adaptable, you know. Although give it a few 100 more years and thats going to change.
