And those kids that do yell and cuss at their parents probably didn't learn the cuss words from their parents...I'll bet they learned them at school or the playground or whatever.

But when the kid comes home and say it...no one smacks him and tell him not to say that

now we're in totally different territory. Are we talking about a 2-year-old, or a 6-year-old? Because I'm saying there's no harm in a kid who's just learning to speak hearing a word and repeating it over and over again...not a kid in first grade calling his mom a cocksucking whore 'cause his chocolate milk wasn't ready when he came home.

No, there is still a problem at any age. Why the hell would it matter if they are 2 or 12?

Dude what are you even deffending? Obviously a little child does not know the meaning of what he is saying... however it is still embarassing for the parent when your 2 year old say fuck all the time, because that mean that he learnt it from some where. And it is often speculated that the learnt baby from the parents, and wether you like it or not, it is inapropriate to say fuck enough times infront of a baby for him to learn it.

a 2-year-old doesn't even know what a bad word is...can't even grasp the concept. They're still just learning how to speak and repeating everything they hear.
An older kid may not know why a word is bad, but he'll use it just because he knows it is bad.

To add to tarks post, even if the child picked it up from school or something, you shouldnt allow it to continue. If the kid comes home swearing, make them stop! Tell them its not appropriate. I really hope you aren't a parent, or that I never run into your child.

yeah...what I'm saying is I don't see why it's a big deal if you say fuck in front of your kid and he repeats it. It's not even something to be embarrassed about. Then everybody started talking about kids cussing out their parents and being disrespectful. :dunno:
