for some reason the bad words r what kids pick up on and love to use. they dont know what they r saying. alot of it is your tone when u use the word and the reaction that its given by others.

I guess we've been lucky that our soon to be 3 year old hasn't picked up any bad words. He has been saying "shut up" to us recently which is confusing because neither my wife and I say that to him or to each other. :dunno:

say you're at a relatives house for dinner and your kid keeps saying "fuck". It's not cute, it's not harmless, it's embarrassing on your part.

your ability to be a good parent will come into question, no doubt. There are a million other words for the kid to by saying ... "fuck" isn't one of them.

none of my relatives are dumb enough to think "He/She is a bad parent" because the kid knows a "bad" word.
And I've been around situations like that before...We all usually laugh and try to teach the kid more words.

You're just speculating...I've never seen that happen. All my little cousins are respectful toward their parents, even though they learned cuss words when they were babies.
