Muhammad cartoon
The row intensified on Wednesday when France Soir, alongside the 12 original cartoons, printed a new drawing on its front page showing Buddhist, Jewish, Muslim and Christian holy figures sitting on a cloud, with the caption "Don't worry Muhammad, we've all been caricatured here."
apologies generally come later, after the fact. you gotta give them some time to realize the idiocy of their actions. when did the official apology to the jews/muslims for the spanish inquisition come? when did the vatican officially condemn acts of anti-semitism? when did the US issue an apology to its citizens of japanese ancestry that they put in internment camps during ww2? im pretty sure a majority of the muslim would really like to see this incident resolved in a peaceful manner. too bad their cause wont sell newspapers.
maybe christians just arent as caring/sensitive about their faith anymore? most of the attacks on christianity that we have seen have come from others christians/former christians.

NOBODY expects an apology for the Spanish Inquisition. But yesterday the Pope gave one, asking forgiveness for the wave of torture, trials and executions the Church unleashed across Europe in its hunt for heretics.

VATICAN, Oct 29, 02 (CWNews.com) -- Cardinal Walter Kasper (bio - news), the Vatican's chief representative for relations with Judaism, has issued a sharp new condemnation of anti-Semitism, which he calls "a subtle, insidious, and multi-faceted sin."

The U.S. government officially apologized for the internment in 1988, saying it was based on "race prejudice, war hysteria, and a failure of political leadership", and paid reparations to survivors.
let me guess, that's ^ still not good enough for you.

And while it isn't the dark ages here, the Middle East lags far behind Western Europe in culture and development. And their societies are much less PC than western ones, because they aren't to that stage yet.
