There are cars that are of equal or better fuel consumption than the Metro. The Metro is just damn near unsafe for how underpowered it is.

That said, I've seen 4G63's in them and they run 10's h:

my friend used to start his up with a screw driver cause he lost his keys.
Also, it used to overheat alot cause his radiator fan wouldnt kick in. So we used a speaker wire and provided direct power from the battery to the fan.
That fan would stay on all night and come in the morning the car would start with no problem.

The Storm was built as a clone of the Isuzu Impulse, if memory serves. If you can get one for under $100, sure.. But $500...? No.

Given the snow issue, I agree with Nightshade... the Tracker is a better bet.

Don't underestimate the Tracker I know some pretty badass Trackers, especially if you get the 16 valve or do the swap.

A lot of the Samurai guys go back and forth between Trackers and Sammis.

Ugh.
Get rid of the Volvo you're stuck with first.

geo metro's are garbage i had a geo metro convertible 1.0 liter engine the hard tops came with 1.3 liter..... My homeboy swap a 1.3 liter turbo out of a Suzuki swift into a geo metro convertible, and up the boost... thing was pretty fast.... we were gone to do mine but the importer ran out of them.....
