Default I wanna play my iPod in my car...

but I don't know if I want to spring for the Alpine iPod controller. I have an Alpine 9807 headunit so can I just get something like an RCA to 1/8" cord from Radioshack or somewhere and just plug it into the back of my stereo? I realize that I will still have to control the iPod through the portable player itself but I don't think that's that big of a deal.

you either need the Alpine KCA-420i (like you don't want) - $99

or

the Alpine KCM-122B Auxiliary input adapter cable (M-Bus to RCA) - $15

and an RCA to 1/8 adapter.

you don't have RCA jacks on your radio, you need to go though the Ai-Net port.

ok...for some reason I guess I just thought it already had RCA jacks in the back. Oh well, thanks for the info. I will probably just try to pick up the adapter cable and then run that other cable on there. I should be able to pick up the RCA to 1/8" for pretty cheap at like Radioshack or something right?

yeah, that's right. Somebody told me that the other day but I forgot. Those are just Preamp outputs or something like that, right?
