Well although we had names for certain animals we kept we always knew that "Big Mac" was going into the freezer after a few months, and the shit buzzards were going to be Thanksgiving dinner.
Getting attached to an animal aside from the dogs that worked with you was not really an option.

Yum...mass produced chicken products from corporate America 
I didn't know that a single facility could attempt to house that many birds. I still like chicken and eggs, but I think I'd rather buy from small local farmers instead of the corporate machine.
It's kinda sad that our society and population have grown to depend on mass produced livestock products, at the expense of ethics and quality, for conveinience.
