"I have to take a crap", dump, etc. Where you taking it to? And to steal an idea from the comedian Gallagher Why do we park in a driveway and drive in a parkway?

When the hell do you use "Knock on wood"?

Knock on wood is to prevent yourself from being jinxed...for example. If I were playing a game with my friend and I hadn't lost yet, and I said something like "hahaha, you haven't beat me once!", you'd knock on wood to prevent your statement from jinxing yourself.

As in, what an FMU actually is, but people just call it an FMU, which Chris already told you the meaning of.

its to release you from jinxing yourself. For instance:

say your favorite hockey team is rocking and it looks like they're going to win, but there's still 7 minutes left in 3rd period. You say, "the avs are well on their way to taking their division with this win (knock on wood)." See, if you didn't knock on wood, you would have jinxed the team and they would've lost.

How about (sic)? I see that in magazines sometimes, usually around the area where they say something ironic or try to lay down some dry humor.

Why people say "I could care less" to mean I don't care. Anything that is important to me I COULD care less about, are people just to lazy and the expression dropped the "n't" I never understood.

I just realized today that IANAL means I am not a lawyer, I had just thought alot of people were into butt sex...

It's to indicate that a quoted passage, with some kind of error in it, has been left in its original form. Typically done for purposes of supposed hilarity or at the very least mild irony, but not necessarily.
