i dont think thats "standard" but i know if you have mitral valve prolapse you have to take antibiotics before the dentist will even do a normal cleaning, so maybe thats what the person who told you was thinking of :dunno:
wierd this thread came up, my top right one is just starting to poke through the gumline, it is the only wisdom tooth I have, I was born without the other three...my dad that lucky son of a bitch never had any.
had all 4 out at once, it takes a few months for the holes to fill in (it feels weird, you get food in them and such)
and mine kept bleeding for about a day or so after and from there on had a little blood, espcially in the morning, for about 2 weeks ( i think it was from swelling that got worked out as i began to move my jaw)
the pain comes on and stays on for a few days. try just using advil for pain, find something that soothes your mouth, for me i drank about 5 arizona iced teas a day for a little over a week, it seems to really make my mouth feel better.
