I drive like that sometimes. I use it alot when its winter out and ice and stuff. It really helps not getting into a skid when slowing down fast.

On slight uphills, I like to put my tranmission on N when I am at a stop. That way I can get the cool roll back before I slap it into D.

Why do I feel like this thread dwindled into an episode of Pimp My Ride meets Fast and the Furious? :squint:

When driving a manual which is better to do when you're slowing down? Shifting down or throwing it into Neutral and braking? I heard shifting down is harder on the tranny while putting it in neutral and braking is harder on the brakes. Which is the best to do though?

Also when I park on an incline where the top of my car is pointed upwards should I put the E-brake on ALONG with putting it in first gear?

Also, (I drive a 94) what is the BEST RPM to shift at? I've heard everything from 2-4.

One more. Is it okay, for example to do this? When I'm coming down a hill, put it in Neutral, cruise downhill, then when I come to the bottom throw it back in the gear whichever corresponds with my speed (i.e., if I'm going 40 at the bottom going from Neutral to 4th)

Thanks! Just some questions that I've been dying to ask someone!
