Need virus help from the computer peeps...

Default Need virus help from the computer peeps...

Its that one that makes a ton of pop ups then tries to spread itself through AIM...


I dont have it my sister does. I'll get instructions to get rid of it, but I dont know what its called. Any ideas?

start her computer in safe mode ... run Norton's Antivirus, Spybot: Search & Destroy, and Adaware.

she doesnt have a copy of anti virus.... shes got adware and ran that lready and cleaned some stuff up

First off get rid of Norton its the worst AV on the planet. Go get a free one called Avast from http://www.avast.com ; if you are running XP it can do a boot time scan and works awesome.

Can never assume with people who run computers. Even veteran computer geeks can make simple and stupid mistakes
