The phrase "...To persuade the audience..." sounds a little strained to my ear.
I'd use an active voice and be specific about which economy / industry benefits from piracy.
EXAMPLE:
"Specific Purpose: Argue (or articulate) the economic benefits of media piracy within the music industry."

When is it due?
How long?
How many sources?
What style [MLA, APA, Chicago]?
And lastly, how much have you got? [HINT: Call ditech.com]

Seriously though, I'm busy as hell with finals coming round in 2 weeks time.
One piece of advice: Change sides.
I'd argue that piracy does irreparable harm.
By supporting the cause of the RIAA, you can use the whole RIAA/ Napster legal dispute as supporting evidence.
