well, good news. i was able to start the bug today. seems to run fine, but idles high. i'll have to check it all out sometime during the day so i can see just exactly what it's doing. in the mean time, here are some more carnage pictures:

well, i've spent about $200 so far. as soon as my backing plates come in, which should be tomorrow, i can start working on putting it all together. i shouldn't need to buy anything else. so i'd guess about $200 to get it driveable again.

I would've used this tumble as an excuse to convert to disc brakes, then again, I don't have a project bug :happysad:

disc brakes are somewhat pointless. i lock up the wheels as it is in the dirt, so having more powerful brakes that lock up the wheels easier aren't going to do much.
