bleh, the only places I use my mouse is on my desk, by bed and my person and my optical has no problems tracking over either and there is no noticeable difference in tracking from either of those surfaces to the next. The laser mouse is a bit too pricey and the gains to be had, in the environment and activities I use it in and for, don't justify the added cost.

I have a G5 and a G7. The G7 is surprisingly lag-less FYI, but I prefer the G5 because I can adjust the weight to better suit my hand

I just got the G7 in the mail from an awesome store, quick and fast delivery. Anyways yeah the G7 is lag-less and this is from a gamer, i played a couple of rounds of various fps and it was better than my previous optical. The spare batteries also help midgame when the battery may die out and the only problem I had was adjusting to the weight and the new accuracy on the laser.

Wireless sucks because you have to reset it every time your computer goes off or the battery dies.

Laser. Whatever you wanna do. The optical is more than fine for most things, IMO.

Uhhh not really.

My G7 has a blinking red light when its low. I push a button and the battery pop out. Then I push a button on the charger and the battery pops out. Put charged battery in mouse, and use mouse. :dunno:

that's what I figured. I'm crossing my fingers that this guy still has a brand new Logitech Cordless Elite Duo for sale for $50, if so I'll pick it up from him this weekend.
