i got so used to the nikon n75, i think i could just about jump into a d70.

a 20d is nicer (so i read), higher and smaller iso. but 200 iso is fine enough with me on the d70.

ISO is film speed or how much light it takes to make an image the faster the speed the less light is needed and the faster the shutter speed and aperture can be.

IS/VR Image Stabilization which is offered in many lenses VR is Nikons name for it and IS is Canons name for it.

1/20 is a shutter speed meaning 1/20 of a second which is a pretty slow shutter speed for handheld in most cases.

oh ic, good info.

so with iso the higher the number(speed) the less light is needed, which is good for taking like moving pictures such as a car driving by, correct?

no. ISO can be increased when there isn't enough available light or if you can't or don't want to use a flash.

to stop motion, ie, car driving by in day light you need a fast shutter speed.

Or you can use a higher ISO in order to get that faster shutter speed. If you can only get a 1/400th out of iso 200, then you can raise your ISO to 400, 800, 1000 ect. to get a faster shutter speed. That is where Canon's CMOS shines over others CCD's in that higher ISO's dont nesasarily (sp?) means more grain.
