aren't dell 42s" have low res? I like them, but the contrast ration is kinda low

oh well, after some looking, here's my list.....

1. Hitachi 42HDF52 - $2500
2. Dell 42" - $2500
3. Philips 42" Plasma HDTV - $2000
4. Magnavox 42MF230A/3 - $1500
5. Westinghouse 37" LCD TV Monitor with 1080p Display

I wouldn't use a plasma for gaming. It'll be burned-in in a day.

Oh, and anyone looking to spend more than $500 on a new tv and NOT getting one that's HDTV compatable... is wasting money. And stupid.

edit: If I was going to get a new TV, it would be a Toshiba DLP. Best picture I've personally ever seen. 1080P for the mega win.
