you dont' have to remove the whole panel. you just have to manuever the speaker through the opening.

 Minus the stripping. I just pulled back the front part of the panal. I was afraid I was going to have to take off the whole thing.. including the part in the hatch. :a:

Nope.. deffinatly not.. just my arms are all cut up now. And the 6.5's don't sit flush.. and I think it's causing some vibrations. h: I'll just have to get subs to throw all the bass to those. :rick:

Look's like I've got a project on my hands. h:

Out come to follow.
Yep, that's how it is when you're installing big ones. h:

I had to pull the whole panel off to fit my 6.5" rear speakers. There was enough shimming and grinding to require removing the plastic speaker mounts. It's not that bad, assuming you don't make a habit of it. :hsd:

It's worth it in the end, no doubt about it.

:a: The driver magnets on some aftermarket speakers (like mine) are too deep to sit flush in the stock baskets. Hence the grinding and shimming.

The front of my DA had those basket dealies too. I solved the problem by getting speakers that had ultra slim neodymium magnets that fit inside the baskets. h:
