Yep, that's how it is when you're installing big ones.

I had to pull the whole panel off to fit my 6.5" rear speakers. There was enough shimming and grinding to require removing the plastic speaker mounts. It's not that bad, assuming you don't make a habit of it. :hsd:
It's worth it in the end, no doubt about it.
