Default Laundry

How do you do your laundry? What do you use?

I break up colors and white's.

Black/blue's go together

red/orange together

yellow/grey together

white

I use regular liquid laundry detergent like purex added while the water is filling, I don't put clothes in until the washer is filled. Sometime's I add some white vinegar to the load to thoroughly clean the clothes of any softners detergents might have in them. The vinegar rinses out and you'll never smell it, great for bringing back the absorbancy of your bath towels. Softeners actually block your fabrics absorbancy. I use bleach with my white's but never measure, just do the "ok that's enough"

darks cold

darks warm

lights cold

lights warm

whites

liquid tide i add to the basket first. then beging running water. i don't add clothes until the bottom is covered in water and detergent concentrate is diluted somewhat (this prevents those big stains you'd see in your jeans and such under blacklight).

color-safe bleach with the darks and lights, chlorine bleach with the whites. sometimes if i'm washing clothes that have grease in them i will add VERY small amount of simple green so the grease will drain out instead of reabsorbing.

dryer sheet.

No. Since I own very few articles of white clothing, I just stick mine in all together; warm wash with cold rinse.

I separate into lights and darks.
Anything new enough to bleed gets a wash cycle to itself.
(Although, that's a rare occurence.)

The washers & dryers at the apt are fairly ancient, but they get the job done nicely. I pre-treat stains with Shout! Gel and use Costco's liquid Tide equivalent.

As far as water temps, RTFT. h:
