Default Speaker question

Is there a safe way to "undent" a tweeter. I slipped while installing a tweeter in my car and dented it. I can't seem to get it "undented". I was thinking of trying something sticky to pop it back out but I don't want any residue to mess with the sound. Any tips?

it's a slightly dented tweeter. It's slightly off center and the dent covers about 1/3 of the tweeter. You don't need a pic, it's exactly as described.

It's an MB Quartz PCE-216. Also, it slipped because the soldering broke on one of the wires. It's not MB Quartz fault it happened when my car was broken into. All the glass had to be cleaned out and the guy that did it wasn't gentle. Nothing I can do tho cause I can't prove he did it because it could have been caused by the glass (I know he did it because the speaker was working before and not after). So in addition to fixing the dent is there a safe way to solder the wire back on. I know you have to be careful because the heat can do permanent damage.

I dont know how the tweeter looks like. But you can always take something sticky and pull it out that way, or go from underneath and push it back up. You can clean the sticky residue off with some goo-gone or something. And where do you need to solder the wire back on? Heat can damage the speaker, but solder is the way the wire went on in the first place right? Just be careful?

oh man that sucks. i honestly dont think theres a way for you to undent it, unless the material its made from is pretty flexible. but even then, once you damage the cone its near impossible for it to be reversed since the material is really sensitive from the get go.

just take out the tweeter and suck on it. for real, it works most times. i am assuming your talking about a dented dust cap(the center part).

why would you risk undenting it? dont think it chages anything for the sound quality

I wouldn't mess with it, you won't notice a difference in sound quality. It just won't look as pretty.

a piece of duct tape ( or something similar ), slighty press it down on the dome, and once it's on there good, rip it off quick (kinda like removing a bandaid)

might take you a few tries..
