damn...that Comcast deal is a ripoff.

my Time Warner cable is $45/month, free modem, and we don't use them for TV service (we have Dish Network as well).

This is why I'm glad my neighborhood is DSL capable. I am running EarthLink 1.5 mbps ADSL for US$21.95 for the first year and US$29.95 per month afterwards (kisses ZyXEL ADSL modem on top of my computer ).

I can get Comcast for non-video customers for 29.99/mo for 6 months. Should be good enough until FIOS is rolled out.

I'll help make this a little more simple.

If even Verizon won't give you DSL cause you are too far out, there's no way you are going to get DSL from any other provider (ie SBC, Yahoo, etc). You can choose cable, satallite, cable, dialup, cable, or maybe in the future FIOS... or cable.

Looks like you can either get comcast.... or comcast. So there you go. There really is no question about it. That's one of the major problems with a lot of areas, there is only one broadband provider. You either use them or you use dialup.

Oh, and don't listen to anyones oppinion about service unless they actually live in the same building and get service from the exact same line you do. Because their service will be diffrent.
