Don't know how many Floyd fans we have on HAN, but if anyone is interrested, they are FINALLY releasing their masterpiece concert Pulse on DVD on Dec. 5th. It was their last live show from their last world tour in 1994, and even though rampant rumours of a reunion for a world tour are running fresh off their appearance at Live 8, all arrows point to the band never performing live together as Pink Floyd again
.
This is big news in the music world because, while they originally relased the show on VHS and Laser Disc in 1995, it was never "officially" released on DVD. But there are countless thousands of forgeries on DVD, pirated from either an original VHS or Laser Disc, floating around out there. This will be the true work mastered by David Gilmour and James Guthrie (who co-engineered Dark Side of the Moon with Alan Parsons), and not some half baked copy of a tape.
If for anything, you should get this DVD because it contains the only known complete live performance on video of Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd themselves.
I know some people here may or may not be true Pink Floyd fans, but I'm sure many if not most of you have at least heard Dark Side once or twice.
The greatest album ever made. To this date. Period.

I was at the last world tour.
I won't bother buying Pulse for just that reason.
What a depressing way to see such a great band go out. scheduled encores, frigid performances, stage show was barely a step up from delicate Sound of Thunder tour, and their new stuff sucked balls.
I am a fan but only up to Momentary Lapse of Reason, after that it is no longer Floyd.

You're not the only one I know with that opinion. I know alot of people who say Floyd died when Roger quit after The Wall. There is some merit to that. Division Bell isn't a bad album, but certainly not one of their best. But I would defend Pulse as the only known live performance on video of Dark Side, and to just watch David run those classic solos on Time and Money is worth it, IMO.
I missed them whent they came to Cleveland in April of '94, but I know plenty of people who were there. It was cold, rainy, and rather horrible weather to be at an outdoor stadium for a rock concert..... but everyone agrees it was all worth it to just watch Gilmour work his magic.
