Default Porsche 944?

what do you guys think the reliability ont he porsche 944? ive seen the NA ones for around 2k-4k around here, all with low miles but many of them say...rebuilt head and turbo...?

what about insurance? would be more than my 90 accord sine it is a Porsche?

i know the NA oens are kinda a dog, like around mid 16's in quarter but the turbo ones are rpetty damn fast...215+hP
it just seems like a pretty good car to toy around with. im mainly into twisties and not straight line.

thanks guys

Personally if I were getting a non-turbo I would only go for the 944 S2, which is 3.0 liters and has 201 hp. Either that or a 968 which is a 944 with headlights like a 928 and the same 3.0 liter engine but with VarioCam and 236 hp.

NA with rebuilt head and turbo? that makes no sense.

any porsche for you will be wayyy more than your accord.

parts aren't cheap but if the previous owners took good care of it, you'll get some decent miles out of it. don't expect the earlier ones to handle great either.

Upkeep will be more expensive. Just treat it right and it should be okay.

That is not necessarily true. I have had outstanding luck with every German car I have ever had. If they are maintained, they will last. Replacement parts for a 944 may be difficult or impossible to get, but the regular maint stuff is doable. Check out this site for an idea on Porsche Parts Prices

Also check out the buyer's guide and tech sections, it will give you more insight than you will be likely to find here
