boulder: about 1 murder a year, almost always a crime of passion. A few campus rapists, but I don't have to worry about that. There isn't a place in this town I couldn't skip down the street in a pink thong cursing like a sailor in the middle of the night.

Yeah I'm getting kinda used to this whole living in an idyllic hippie town thing. I leave my car parked with the top down and doors unlocked all the time.

This isn't a metropolitan suburb, I live in the middle of downtown.

At my building I park in the underground garage, and to be honest I'd be a bit hesitant to leave it on the street with the top down just because I feel like some random drunk kid might puke or pee in it. Such is the cost of living in the happenin drinking partying part of town.

Aside from that though, pretty much anywhere I go I've got no worries about someone messing with my car while it's parked.

the area where RIT resides is Henrietta which doesnt has little crime, if any. The party I was at was at a off campus house in the deep city about 30 minutes from RIT. I dont know why the RIT students decided to live there. It was a place called "Brooks Landing Development Projects" or something. It leads me to believe it was a project. All I know was that wearing an RIT sweatshirt was a bad idea. I got so much shit walking from the car to the house. I have heard that the city of Rochester has the most murders in the nation per year, but then again I heard the same thing about baltimore and Im too lazy to really care.

Im really glad Im ok too. Now that Im sober I did a 2nd body check. Still a-ok.

Wow, that's fucked up. Glad your ok. Btw...here is some of the data you guys were wondering about. I got some of it form different places...but I got the specifics on rochester and baltimore from http://www.cityrating.com/crimestatistics.asp
So you can check your city.

I'm not sure what the current murder rates are....but the top ten cities (with over 500,000 people) in murder rate per capita in 2002 were:
1. Washington DC
2. Detroit
3. Baltimore
4. Memphis
5. Chicago
6. Philadelphia
7. Columbus
8. Milwaukee
9. Los Angeles
10. Dallas

Per Capita National Murder rates by state in 2003 were:
per 100,000
1. Louisiana 13.0
2. Maryland 9.5
3. Mississippi 9.3
4. Nevada 8.8
5. Arizona 7.9
6. Georgia 7.6
7. South Carolina 7.2
8. Illinois 7.1
9. California 6.8
10. Tennessee 6.8
...
24. New York 4.9
...
50. Maine 1.2

In 2003:
-Rochester had 58 murders and a population of about 217,527. Their murder rate is about 3.49 times the National Average.

-Baltimore had 270 murders and a population of about 644,554. Their murder rate is about 5.48 times the National Average.

Geez. We don't have many shootings, that I know of. My city is the largest Meth city in the nation (Last I heard, it might only be in the west now)
