Default Who knows how to wheelie on a bicycle?

Who knows how to wheelie on a bicycle, or even better, manual?

What techniques do you guys use (standing, sitting, brake etc)

Its just one of those things I was never able to get really good at, and since I'm in the bicycling game again (05 Specialized Hard Rock Sport...nothing special), I really want to get good at it, among other things of course. Riding at age 24 is a whole lot different from riding at 13 taking doubles like I used to ...

I used to be able to do it pretty well. Its easiest on a bmx, stand on the back pegs and pull up then just balance. I haven't rode my bike for a while so I can't quite remember until I get back on.

I'd start out with bmx. Once you get used to doing it with that and that weight you'll be better at regular bikes, IMO. Its really hard to manual or wheelie sitting on a bmx. Easier on a bike.

.It's all about feel. The real manuals.. (non pegs) require alot of practice. When you do them, just yank back on the bars and try and hold it.. .kinda hard to explain, but it's all practice. Measure how long you've gone with telephone poles... two is decent... five or more is intense.

put it in a low gear and just pedal and pull up, you can do this sitting or standing. and while you're up just keep pedaling and balancing.

word to the wise... if you have quick release front hub and you transport your bike frequently. make sure that you tighten that bitch back up when putting it on. once i just threw the wheel on and tossed the bike in the garage. next time i used it i forgot to tighten. first thing i did was rip a wheeile and the front wheel just kept on going. needless to say i slammed the forks straight into the ground and went face first into pavement.
