Default bottle redemption fees (beer etc..)

how come when you buy beer you get charged a CRV (CA redemption value or other _____ redemption value) of $.05 but when you try to get that back at a recycler you get like $.000001 what gives :hsdunno:

In MA, anything carbonated costs $.05, and you get it back when you go to a redemption center.

you have to go to a place with the machine and then you get the full amount. If you go to a distributor they give you like a cent and they keep the other 4.

in michigan we have a 10 cent deposit on every can/bottle/etc so we save all our cans and take them back to the sto.

They had a problem in IL for a while with kids stealing copper from construction sites, copper values went up recently for some reason. It's alot of work though you have to first get away with the copper, then skin the rubber coating off the wire, then, haul it to a walmart parking lot collector guy...
Not like like i would know or anything. :rick:
