how the hell to prevent ingrown hairs

A: Most traditional aftershaves have a large volume of alcohol in them. This ain't good for many reasons, just two of which are: 1) They sting a cleanly shaven face like crazy 2) They’re big-time drying to the skin. A better way to go is a soothing post-shave balm or a gel. These products calm down and re-moisturize the skin.

, otherwise it feels nice
I shave before I take a shower and I haven't had any problems. Except when I shave against the grain. Thats a big no-no. Always shave with the grain. My hair grows weird. Up under my ears the hair grows towards my mouth. I shave using warm water, never tried wetting my face then shaving then using cold water. Perhaps I'll try that.
I used to have a roomate who would have a 5'oclock shadow at like noon. He was a hairy guy. He shaved in the shower, saying it was the only way to prevent those ingrown hairs for him. Maybe give that a shot. :dunno:
