steve's digicam reviews usually mentions performance times.

http://steves-digicams.com/2005_revi..._a345_pg5.html
Shooting performance was average. Power-up to first image captured measured about 3.6 seconds. Shutter lag, the delay between pressing the shutter release and capturing the image, averaged 3/10 of a second when pre-focused and 5/10 of a second including autofocus. Shot-to-shot delay averaged 3.2 seconds without use of the flash and 3 - 5 seconds with the flash, depending on subject distance. The A345 has a continuous capture mode, using it I was able to capture 3 frames in approx. 1.8 seconds

i have a sony t1...love it, i take it everywhere. it uses duo sticks also, so i can take it right out and put them in the PSP to view the pics on a bigger screen.

hmm. where did you get it? i can't find a place that actually has (a store i can go to).

side note, have you actually taken the card out of the camera and put it into the psp and been able to view the pictures? if so, that pushes me towards a sony a little more.

i think it's been replaced by dsc-t3. yes, you can take the stick directly out of the camera and put it in the PSP, without creating a "PHOTO" folder.

also, with the sony dsc-s60, you can get an adapter and put different lenses on it. i probably won't do it that much once i get a real camera, but it's a nice option i guess.

yeah...not a bad price either i know there's a lot of sony haters on this board, but they work fine as point and shoot digicams. i've had three in addition to a nikon coolpix and canon G5.

I really liked my Canon SD110 before it was taken I could imagine the newer versions are even better.

it's funny because i'd actually consider myself a sony hater, especially with cameras and computers. but the option to put the card into the psp is actually a huge turn-on, not that i'll really be able to see a ton of detail or anything, but it'll still help in viewing the images when i'm not near a computer.

32mb internal memory is actually pretty cool too.

You say it's for taking to concerts. How close to the stage will you be? Because most pocket sized cameras don't have long enough lenses to get you a proper shot of someone on a stage. I just took some concert shots from not too far from the stage(s) and used a 70-210mm zoom, mostly towards the longer end. The typical compact cameras will usually have a maximum reach equivalent to about 120mm on a 35mm film camera, not exactly great but I guess that's workable if you're close enough to the stage.

I happen to really like my Nikon 7900 digicam. It doesn't like low light levels with close zooms, but besides that, takes some really clear shots with minimal work
