You say it's for taking to concerts. How close to the stage will you be? Because most pocket sized cameras don't have long enough lenses to get you a proper shot of someone on a stage. I just took some concert shots from not too far from the stage(s) and used a 70-210mm zoom, mostly towards the longer end. The typical compact cameras will usually have a maximum reach equivalent to about 120mm on a 35mm film camera, not exactly great but I guess that's workable if you're close enough to the stage.
