YOU want to call somebody an idiot? GO watch the 2 minute video. It is only at the end that he refers to Bush. You are so caught up in what he said at the end that you overlook the message he is trying to get across.
West, who didn’t perform, was on the stage with comedian Mike Myers reading a script from the teleprompter when he deviated from the pre-written script.

“I hate the way they portray us in the media,” West said echoing comments that big media outlets are biased in how they present images of the hurricane victims.

“You see a black family, it says, ‘They're looting.’ You see a white family, it says, ‘They're looking for food.’

“It's been five days [waiting for federal help] because most of the people are black,” West said. “And even for me to complain about it, I would be a hypocrite because I've tried to turn away from the TV because it's too hard to watch.

 

Maybe, since you were the one making comments, you should have specified what part of the video YOU were talking about. I mean, after all, the title of this thread refers to a SPECIFIC portion of the video. Not to mention the fact that his comments are HEAVILY biased. He is the type of person that reads too much into every situation, and thinks everything is based upon race. He's a conspiracy theorist. Haven't you heard his new album? He claims the government is dispersing the HIV virus.

 

I didnt know I had to be so specific with you. I thought you would be able to determine exactly what the message in my attachment means. I fully understand the initial topic of the thread but unfortunantly as I read through, I am not the first to go off on a tangent. I am not here to argue. I just wanted to post my viewpoint that I agree with most of what Kanye said and also agree with what others have stated in this forum that unfortunantly his timing was off.

 

I agree with Kanye. His timing is not off. Everyone outside the media and even some republicans are pissed, at how the government is handeling this.

 

Slow down before you go accusing. Open your eyes and look at the big picture. Kanye along with most hip hop emcees can be considered similar to an actor or actress. He made an act for you to follow along with however; that does not necessarily mean that what he says is what deep down his opinions may be. I could go on for days in regard to this but will not get off to another tangent here.

 

Do you guys not understand how the government works? Congress was not even in session, therefore the President could not offer any aid. There's a chain of events that has to happen. The city and state governments had things they could have done too. Blaming the federal government, or the president, for this problem, is ridiculous.

 

I've seen a few interviews with him as of late, echoing the same sort of things he claims in this video. Based on what he says in these situations, and tying in his lyrics, it's easy to see...

 

Im not here to argue about the government and their procedures. I fully understand how they operate and am not questioning that. I also fully understand how the media operates and guarantee you the writer of the AP PRESS reports will no longer have a job when this is said and done. Either that or a policy will be put in place to avoid similar situations.

 

I agree, there will be some kind of oversight so that this doesn't happen again. I'd be willing to bet that different people wrote the captions, but it COULD have been the same person.

 

So would you say the NO situation has been handled to your satisfaction? Somebody here was not efficient in using their time management to save lives. Who was it?
