But how easy is to fix them just to get them running for at least a month?

And back to the first question. Will a flooded car never start again unless some major mechanics are done? Or it's possible for the car to start and run for a few hours or days?

Ok if it isn't salt water, how about taking off the spark plugs and running the starter to flush out some of the water? Putting some sort of pump device into the cylinders to pump out all of the water, then leaving the spark plugs off to let the rest of the moisture evaporate? And, flushing out all of the fluids that might have got water in them?

when i primer too much nitro into my r/c car, i just remove the glow plug and crank the engine. nitro goes flying everywhere.

can't you do the same thing with a car? remove the plugs, crank the engine, and let it dry.

:werd:

I used to fly rc airplanes, and when the engine got flooded, we would pull the glow plug and crank it several times until it looked flushed enough to start. That's why I say pull the spark plugs and dry it out that way.

flood cars get sold as used cars all the time. they're usually sold across state lines and given clean new titles.. lax state laws and their enforcement allow for this. some are cosmetically cleaned up.. u can look under the hood and check wiring inside the car.. tale tell signs are there if u really look..same with parting out cars u can get parts that came from a flood car..

I saw a completelly flooded Toyota Corona. It was drying out for 2 months in a hot room. After mechanical work was done they start it up. I don't know what happened to that car after. Most likely it was sold with lots of problem coming up.
Anyway, even after 2 month drying period it had a smell of water inside.
So, it will start. I'm not sure about salt water.

I'm not sure but how I see this problem I'd remove oil pan and pistons with rods to be on a safe side. I don't think that spark plugs removal is enough to eluminate a hydro lock.
