Megatron, get one to keep MISB. Megatron isn't that cool. The vehicle mode spoilers are his feet. The ankle joints are weak, making it difficult to keep Megatron standing upright. If I would have know this, I wouldn't have bought one to open.
Starscream, you only really need 1 to keep MISB. That sucker is a brick. After having opened one, I'm 50/50 on advising someone to get a Starscream to open.

But I guess I've been on the other side of those deals too.

I couldn't even get Hambone to buy one

I opened Starscream last night....he's huge, but very cool I thought. MISB is tought to find with a decent box. I got the only one without a footprint on it. Did you guys notice that there are two version of the box?
I also saw one Cybertron Prime hidden in the back there. Plenty of Megs.

Completed listings on e-bay show that Cybertron Prime is fetching anywhere from $49.99 + S&H to $62.99 + S&H.
That's a healthy profit on a new toy if you bought it during a TRU sale with the $5 off coupon.

I think Cybertron toys are pretty hard for collectors though. The packaging gets beat up so easily that it's almost impossible to find one that has a box that is remotely intact.

The trick is to buy it. Then if you're out and you see one in better condition than the one on your shelf, buy the better one and use that receipt to return the old one.
The $9.99 and $6.99 figures are less tricky to find in decent shape.
The $26 level ones like Defense Red Alert, Evac..etc...those are difficult to find in decent shape.
My Prime and Megatron are top notch.
I guess you can get the cybertron toys already AFA-ed from Ebay:
http://search.ebay.com/transformers_...ysolutions2006
Look at what this guy's selling. He's got Cybertron toys AFA graded with the "U" for uncirculated. That means that Toygrader opened the sealed case at their location. Even with that, most of the $26 MSRP toys only get an 80 - 85 grade because of the weak packaging. The carded ones get around 90 grade.
Yep finding these in perfect shape is difficult.

Yeah, that's a good strategy. I don't think I'll be collecting them misb though. I just want to play with some of them. I'm gonna wait for that sale next week and grab up a bunch of them.

Anyone here have opened Cybertron figures? What are your opinions? Of which ones that you have opened, would you recommend that others purchase and open?
Prime - open
Sideways - maybe open
Megatron - better off not opening. If you want to open, wait to buy a Galvatron and open that instead.
Starscream - maybe open
