So I did my first roadtrip today, covered about 400km(donno about miles). Was driving roughly 90mph the whole way, through a freeway, and some nice 2 lane blacktops. Car was my dad's BMW 530i, that car is amazing for the kind of cross-country driving. Its a big comfy sports sedan, the ride is nice and supple, but you can boot it and it will play along when pushed. If the Audi TT is the perfect car to drive at 7/10ths, this car is perfect for 8 maybe even 9/10s, no body roll, barely any tire squaking, perfectly neutral, the tiptronic is great for stop and go, and its manual mode is about as reponsive as I would want it. The soundtrack for the drive included Pearl Jam, The Postal Service and the new Coldplay CD. I enjoyed myself immensly, and if you havent taken a roadtrip with your buddies, its well worth it.
