Land line for local calls is like $10 a month here. I wouldn't bother 'borrowing' it.

if the line is active why not use it...besides i dont see how u would be required to pay if it came about...thats a screwup on the phone companies side...id do it

yea but if you know they screwed up then you should report it to them.
That way all liability is off your shoulders. Even if you report it, and they dont do anything about it then I believe you might get away with it.
As long as local calls are made and kept at a minimum.

Or dial some 900 numbers

5 years ago when we moved from NYC to NJ, the new people who moved in used our line to make hundreds of international calls. My parents got a bill from AT&T for $4,000!!! My dad gave them a big :madfawk: and told them we werent gonna pay it.

but in this situatuion maybe it was the previous tennants line. If it is its his fault he might of forgot to call to cancel it. the line will eventually be cut because no one is paying it.
