Default VW Keys

I know that a few people on HAN have VWs. The 'rents have a passat with only one switchblade key. We've looked at the dealer for another one but they want about 200 smackers for it. Does anyone know of any sites that sell blanks for cheap?

Arent there buttons for the trunk release and keyless entry on the fobs? Maybe thats why they are so expensive? Or are you looking for just the blank key?

the "alarm" buttons are on the fobs and the key part has to be laser cut from the middle. i think most european cars are like this now. my bmw key was the older generation keys and it was laser cut too, but from the outer edges but it still had the alarm/keyless entry buttons on it too.

with BMWs the keys are cut when the car is made and they only make X number of key. I believe 6 master keys total. so if you lose all 6 + the none master keys you have to get a new DME (ecu).

Our car was supposed to come with 1 flip key, 2 regular keys and one valet key. We bought the car used in great condition and they only had one key.
