oh. i didnt know that
when i had to get my key replaced it was the 3rd master key. i lost one and the other one's button got all jacked up, so i had to order it from the dealer. i just thought they had bmw in germany make it and send it over.

i thought all the VW's keys were flip keys? (besides the valet key)... my car came with 2 flip keys, a valet key, and one blank plastic thing.

the key on the Element costs $300 to replace as well (thats what the dealer said anyway) b/c of the computer chip or whatever.

No. You can get just regular ones too. Oh and that blank plastic thing we didn't get either. Thats the thing you use to copy keys, I think.

crazy. i didnt know they had "regular" vw keys.

Yup they do. I had one, it was cool at first but then it got kinda annoying.
