Its mainly the schools fault.
Suppose he doesnt know what he was talking about and decides to go ahead and help you out and he screws things up even worse.
Honestly, I would spend my day either

a) calling the school and speak to someone above that chick that leisurely comes to work. DONT take NO for an answer. There is someone else there that can help. Screw that understaffed shit.

Everyone in this planet is understaffed and in my example we still get the job done. Dont rely on them to call you.
Its your credit, your education, your life and your bill.

b) go to the school and speak to the head of the financial aid department. If they arent around then find who they report too. Just DONT take NO for an answer.

Trust me, it works. I do that shit all the time. You may sound like an ass by being persistant but, it will work.

I think if you go to a state school in MA, they are almost required to give you problems with your financial aid.

UPDATE: well I called financial aid today. they informed me that my financial aid package was incomplete because they failed to notify me that i hadnt sent some info as of yet so i faxed my taxes over and a verification of independance form. well i can cancle my loan now cause the state is giving me almost 7 grand. looks like i can get rims now. hahahahaha.
