i think the 2nd gen miata was teh best looking miata designed so far.
the new one looks like white_and_slow's retarded neighbor.

No word on that just yet.

Speculation on miata.net is leaning towards it getting the ~270 hp 2.3 liter turbo engine from the upcoming Mazdaspeed6 since the Miata already has an engine from the same MZR family.

170hp out of a 2 liter is pretty weak.

No variable valve mechanism?

Ok...Honda also happens to make a 160 hp 2.0 liter, I guess that's weak too? Not that long ago at all, 140 hp was considered pretty standard for a 2.0 liter 4 banger.

Not to mention the car weighs about 2500 lbs tops.

The Miata has a cam-phasing variable valve timing setup. No cam switching.

i dunno, for an s2000 competitor it looks weak.

That is also Honda's detuned bottom of the line 2.0.
