I just had some last night...here's what I do:
Take a fork and poke holes in both sides of the meat
Season with salt, pepper, and I add on garlic & herb mixture seasoning...rub into one side, flip and do the other
Then I put a little zesty italian dressing on the top side, let it sit for a few minutes, then throw that side onto the grill....then put the dressing on the other side....grill to perfection, and dip in A1.

if you want the garlic flavor but dont want to eat the garlic, i sometimes poke holes into the steak with a knife and stick in a clove of garlic...but i like minced garlic so i just do that instead

heh.. fyi.. chopped brings out a more pungent, bitter flavor; minced, brings out a crisp sweeter flavor
