Default komputar question

I'm thinking I need to upgrade my laptop computer's RAM. My computer has been lagging a lot lately when a lot of stuff is open. I am a noob when it comes to computer stuff so I'm just trying to get some direction here. What options do I have exactly? I've got a Compaq Evo N800c with only 256MB RAM. What are some good sites to order upgraded RAM that will work with my laptop? Thanks in advance.

Ha! Yeah, well I didn't exactly pick it out either. I went to school at Rose-Hulman here in Indiana my freshman year of college and these things were like "assigned textbooks". We didn't have a choice on the model or anything, they were just a requirement that we buy one. :ugh: So anyway, 2 years and $3500 later, I am in need of a RAM upgrade. How do I find out what spec my RAM is? (Please don't hate on me for asking questions like this. Everyone has to start somewhere in their computer literacy...)

you probably have lots of spyware, adware, etc...

www.download.com search adaware and spybot, install those applications, update their definitions, and run them on a weekly basis.

that should help to speed your laptop up a bit...but you wouldn't hurt from a memory upgrade either.

actually i am running the newest version of adaware and I run it and check for updates everyday. I also defrag my computer about once a month and do disk cleanup like once a week. I think maybe I just need to let go of some of the these hundred or so music videos and other crap like that...
