Default Anyone ever have a part made by CNC

I need to have a part made, making a copy of a Alpina part that is NLA for the E30. Any ideas of where to start.

You should start with a somewhat accurate sketch with dimensions.

Are you doing the work or having it done?

One of my sponsors owns a CNC machine and makes custom parts all the time.

Taggart Performance Engineering. Look him up

well if u dont need to learn the code... (there should be programs out there already)... just draw it up in solidworks or a CAD/CAM software and they should have software to convert the drawing to CNC code...

another words get a micrometer and other measuring tools to find the dimensions... make sure u triple check your dimensions because human error is a huge factor and take measurements that are repeatable as well as accurate...

I've used ProEngineer for this sort of thing in school. Make sure you know what the hell you are doing before you try and design a part....this is why I don't like those online design your own part services...not everyone is an engineer.

Yes, I've run the machine myself too. If you have the original part or drawings of the original part handy, I would start by doing a 3D model of it in some CAD/CAM software.

ive used a cnc before. for complex stuff its easy to make parts
