Default Car got broken into last night

Well, not my car but my mom's car. The guy smashed the rear window to enter the vehicle and just rummaged through the inside. All that was taken was the change in the ashtray.

I was hesitant to call the police as it didn't really seem significant as all that was taken was about 5 bucks in change. But now that I got a good look at the inside of the car, I saw some dried blood on the doors and a little on the seat. Should I call the police anyways and get a report with a possibility of the guy getting caught?

If they broke a window then I would, insurance should cover the window.

I would. There were probably multiple breakins, and he'll easily get caught (considering he breaks into a car without knowing whats in it) so he can be pinned with more charges. mIght as well.

i would get a police report so you can claim it with insurance.

This type of crime seems to be drug related, someone needing money fast.
A car thief would have broken in without obvious damage.
