Debate from another forum: RSX vs. G35 suspension
Theres a debate right now on another forum.. over which car would handle better:
stock 05 RSX type S with Tein SS coils
or
stock 03-04 G35 with stock suspension
Can anyone comment here?
thanks

Let me guess which forum, ClubRSX? And "handling" as in how? A G35 is a luxo tourer with a tad of sport in mind. The RSX is an economy car with aftermarket bits. It depends on what you're looking for.

They both are "fair" in respects to handling.
best bet is to look at skidpad tests in C&D for the stock machines and see the overall difference. Then assuming a capable driver did the testing again you would have your answer.
Being a hypothetical question there really is no accurate way of getting an answer.

suspension wise, the RSX-S will do better, it's quick, light weight, and good suspension set up.
The G35 has the power, but due to heavy weight, and the 03-04 standard only come in regular suspension, so it's not as good. If it's the newer one or the old one with the sport package, then it'd be awsome, if not better.
yes, I testdrove both. A friends RSX-S with Tein SS and a G35 stock standard. The RSX-S handled better. I guess because he lowered 2.5", and also had some other things as well such as struts bars, braces, and stuffs with better wheels and tires. Compared to an 04 G35 Auto with standard option and 17" wheels and regular tires.

Define "handling." Skidpad grip? Slalom speeds? Lane change maneuver? Road course or autocross times? General feeling of tossability?
I'd go RSX despite its wrong-wheel drive. The G35 is a big car and its suspension is kind of soft. It can be made into a nice handling car but stock, nah.
