usually 3 - 5k or when i remember to. but i used to go through that many miles in less than a month. so i gave up on doing that. i just check the oil every now and then to see if its really dirty.

 

Around 2500, I drive it pretty hard so just to be safe.

 

I try and change mine around every 3K. It winds up being every 4K or so. I use Castrol 5W-30 and change the oil filter (OEM) every time. My 95 with 188K still runs like a champ.

 

every 4-5k (the latter if i get lazy).. i lose about a quart over the life of the change, so i sometimes add one quart towards the end. engine has ~162k or so miles. this is on conventional oil.

if you ask me, changing your oil every 3k is a waste.
