Default Greatest Americans

I watched most of this show last night on A&E and was struck by how short their memories, and friggin stupid the average American must be. Seriously, Michael Jordan a better American than Jonas Salk? Madonna a better American than, well, anyone, also, who gives a rat's ass what Moby thinks about anything?

Unbelievable that both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush would be in the top 25, hell neither one of them would be in the top 5 presidents this century. Anyone else watch this silly ass show?

I never gave it a chance because I knew it would turn into a popularity contest chock full of celebrities. That shows downfall was they let the public vote to come up with the results.

Those shows are a crock of shit.

Didn't Madonna become a British citizen and reject her US citizenship?

Clinton and Bush are top Americans?? :lmfao: Both combined are about as great as water in a glass.

I watched a little bit of it, but I had a similarly disapointing experience.

I'm glad I didn't watch it then. Who was #1?

I have not seen an episode...mostly because I knew it would turn into such a circus.

I would left all politicians off of the list. All of them.

If I had to pick one, I'd nominate George Washington Carver.

I believe you are correct sir, even if she has dual citizenship, she hates America and Americans.

George Washington Carver is on the list, but not in the top 25. Muhammed Ali is not too bad a guy, but not the same league as Carver.

I think politicians like Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, etc. deserve a nomination because without them there wouldn't be a United States today. What I really don't understand is how someone like Lance Armstrong or Oprah Winfrey made the list. Dubya and Clinton certainly don't deserve a spot.

It's all a sham

Washington, Jefferson, Franklin and the rest were all guilty of treason and rebellion....so I doubt in these days and times they would mention them because they are trying to keep the American people sedate. I know it sounds stupid but look at the programming as of late and you will notice that there aren't a lot of rebellious type shows on regarding the people and the government

Yeah and Franklin and Jefferson were womanizers, too, as was Roosevelt and Kennedy. That doesn't go over too well now either...

Oh well. Washington gets my vote for keeping it together.
