Well look who's controling the FCC.... Censorship is not far away.

I turned it on, saw Johhny Carson at #50 something, valid choice I think. But then I decided to clean my room, it was that interesting.

i'm disappointed in Discovery and TLC more than anything. you used to turn them on to watch what life is like on the other side of the globe and learn new shit about the world we live in. now you turn on Discovery and you're watching the fawkin Tuttles with their family drama and bikes that i could give a damn about. similar to other programs.

George Washington Carver is on the list, but not in the top 25. Muhammed Ali is not too bad a guy, but not the same league as Carver.
muhammed ali was a great boxer, not a great american. great americans don't flee the country when their country calls on them for service. ali was a draft dodger, great boxer, but still a draft dodger and deserves to be nowhere near that list.

Bland? You mean like developing space flight, aircrafts, television, a movie industry, the most robust economy on the planet, the most ethnically diverse country on the planet, sending people to the moon.... etc. etc. etc.

Oh yeah, bland.

I admit, the people who voted for the "Greatest Americans" were more or less doing a popularity vote and the show, as a result, is stupid -- but come on, America, bland? Please.

Ali went to prison for skipping joining up.

While I agree that's perhaps the most cowardice thing an American can do, I think it is worthy to note that he has done a lot of things for American service personnel after his career that might make him qualify.

Then again, can one ever forgive what he did? I'm not so sure.
