Hell no, kids need dicipline. THe thing is some people abuse spanking and stuff, or their kids are too spoiled that when a parent raises their hand they'll call the cops or tell a teacher. If you teach them early to respect you and that spanking is a last resort it works fine.

These people must not have kids or something... I mean I don't have kids, but I know how important it is to instill discipline and lay down the law.
Sadly a lot of parents think they can just send their kids to the military and "they'll fix em". But we (military personel) don't want a problem child any more than ANY employer. Maybe I'm just getting older...

Spank them brats! It's not right to 'beat' your kids, but they do need to be diciplined. It seems that many parents these days are having poor success diciplining their kids because they think that if they spank their kids their going to go to jail for child abuse. I know that for myself getting a good spanking when I was little helped take some guesswork out of 'right & wrong' decisions/behavior.
