Default What to get for custom laptop?

Alright,

Ive decided to go with a Sony Vaio FS series. I'm customizing it and finding it hard to decide what to put on it. ill be using it during college, im sure ill have some music and pics. the categories im not sure on is:

1) PROCESSOR
Intel Pentium M Processor 770 (2.13 GHz) [add $650.00]
Intel Pentium M Processor 760 (2.0 GHz) [add $350.00]
Intel Pentium M Processor 750 (1.86 GHz) [add $150.00]
Intel Pentium M Processor 740 (1.73 GHz) [add $50.00]
Intel Pentium M Processor 730 (1.60 GHz)
Was planning on 730 (1.60 GHz)

2)Hard Drive
100 GB Hard Disk Drive [add $200.00]
80 GB Hard Disk Drive [add $100.00]
60 GB Hard Disk Drive [add $60.00]
40 GB Hard Disk Drive [add $30.00]
30 GB Hard Disk Drive
Not sure.

Again, I'm sure some of you are thinking "get the best of the best"... well, i cant afford that right now, so im asking what would be suitable for me going to college. also, another quick question... does anyone know if these notebooks come standard with some sort of charger? i thought so but on the custom screen it has "Sony VAIO AC Adapter 89.99".

Thanks guys.

Well I have been using a laptop in college the last two years, and it never leaves home. Mine has only got 60 GB and 1.3 Pentium and 1 GB of RAM. Works plenty fine for what I do. Next semester IM planning on buying a desk top.

I would say pick the cheapest in the options its college it might get stolen or a beer dumped on it

Nightshade, even if I change my mind and go with a different brand, the customizing is still the same pretty much, what would you recommend with those options i quoted above?

I am assuming that this is your only computer. I would just get the 1.6. I have a 1.6 on my Dell and it does everything fine. I just use it for word processing, Photoshop, and sometimes watching movies. As for hard drive size, get the smallest one. If you actually want a bigger one, sell that one and get a bigger one from newegg.com. The price you pay for those upgrades are crazy. Same with ram. All notebooks come standard with a AC charger.

viao is a waste of money IMHO any other company will give you comparable models for a fraction of the cost

You will find a lot of people saying IBM is one of the better companies making notebooks. But you will pay for it.

I have a Dell. Cheap and it works. The build quality could be better though.

Don't get a VAIO. I've had mine for two years. It started off pretty well, ran quickly and did a lot of good data processing. Then last year the DVD drive failed (would've cost $700 to fix had I not badgered them into covering it under warranty) and now one of the memory slots has also failed. I'm looking to get a new laptop soon.... (as soon as I can find time to actually decide what to get)
