Ouch. I wish I was there to look at it. It's always good to get some second opinions in case its something you have overlooked. I would definitely look into repairing it, you'll lose so much trying to sell a car that doesn't run. If you can afford it, see about getting a rental truck with a trailer to tow it home.

that's exactly what I said. he said the starter is engaging but the crank isn't turning. doesn't sound right to me.

i think you guys are missing something. good luck with whatever route you choose, Jae.

I originally thought it was alternator, but that was before I knew the starter was spinning. The starter sounds like it's freewheeling, and not catching anything to spin the crank.

yeah exactly. he said he can hear the flywheel spinning, but i think he is just hearing the starter spinning. sounds like something simple to meh.

the only other way the flywheel can be spinning without the crank turning is if the crank pulley broke. and I seriously doubt that, specially being he turned the car off himself.

Well... Flywheel could be toothless, or starter could not be flush with housing..

*shrug*

crap NM, didn't read that the flywheel WAS spinning.

sorry to hear it mang. just remember to take care of yourself now... if you do that, you'll be able to build another better civic down the road. I've considered parting my civic out, but i don't think I could do it without a wreck. :happysad:
