if this doesn't change his attitude.. he's going to grow up to be one of those guys who talks a lot of shit when he's with his friends, but won't say a word when he's alone.

dude, it's just a kid. a 250lb linebacker or an otherwise full-grown adult would incite a different response. i guess this isn't true for you, but i hope that if i were in that kind of situation, i'd be able to have a little restraint and not just blindly start a fight. if it can be avoided (and this could have been avoided), that's already MUCH better than possibly gaining the upper hand by striking first. there's plenty of other things the bus driver could have done. beating the shit out of the kid was uncalled for

again, I'm not stating that the bus driver had no choice. I thought I was clear that both parties made haste decisions on their behavior?? I don't know where you went to school, but at my old high school and junior high... there have been quite a few cases where the students have attacked the teachers. I remember a fight broke out between two girls and the vice principal (female) went to break it up. One of the girls punched her and knocked her down. I'm not 100% sure, but I heard she either broke the principal's nose or almost did.

at the time, I was on the other side of the building as it happened.

couldnt the driver be held with attempted murder? i mean...he tried to choke the kid and all. plus with a good enuf lawyer and a bit crying, i bet the driver could goto jail.

ive been socked in the face by a scrawny ass 12 yr old, didnt hurt one bit so it shouldnt of hurt the driver at all anyways, lol

two guys attacked my 6 foot 8 econ teacher my senior year. well all i have to say is they got their asses handed to them and got expelled for assaulting a teacher. the youth of today think they are too badass and have no respect for authority whatsoever.

to you guys saying the kid got what he deserved...i dont understand your viewpoint? there was no self defense involved, and if that was my little brother/son at a bus stop and i saw a bus driver with his has on him guess what?

it is now justified self defense(in my state at least) on my part because he is assaulting someone, a minor at that.

I dont care what you guys say..."they were punks, yadda yadda yadda" fine and dandy.

People have to deal with shit on the job...customer service: irate customers to want to return something; police officers: drunk, unruley individuals; bus drivers: asshole students.

i think its complete bs those kids are charged w/ felonies and the bus driver only a misdemeanor.

i guess assaulting minors is alright by the law...shit in that case, the last customer i dealt with was an asshole, let me go to my car and get my gun to show him that physical abuse is not considered a manufacturer defect.

the older kid was 15 and the younger was 12 i read this somewhere. the district that school in has guidelines and so does the county of what happens and if the driver felt threatened in anyway he can defend himself. Hell i'd feel threatened if someone snuck up behind me with some choice words because 1 a pencil can kill, 2 kids these days sometimes conceal weapons well that was how it was at my school.
